Privacy notice

What this site does — and deliberately does not do — with your data

This site is built to need very little from you: form submissions are stored privately with fixed retention periods, the scanner runs entirely in your browser, and analytics carries no personal data. This notice sets out the full picture, feature by feature.

Who we are

The controller for this website

This website, https://mcp.ecocitizenz.com, is operated by EcoCitizenz Ltd. For any question, request or complaint about how this site handles data, the contact is mcp@ecocitizenz.com — no form, account or reference number is needed.

This notice covers this website only. Checkout runs on TrustOps and is covered separately below.

What this site processes

Four features, each with a deliberately small footprint

Everything this site does with data falls under one of four features. For each, this is what is collected, where it goes and what never happens.

Contact, qualification and resource forms

  • Forms ask for a work email and the technical facts needed to qualify an engagement — nothing more. The security-briefing resource form asks only for a work email, an optional company name and an optional marketing-updates choice.
  • Submitted answers are validated and length-capped, then stored privately in Microsoft Azure so we can provide the requested resource, handle the enquiry and measure how the resource performs. Only the fields the form shows are stored; the application does not intentionally retain your IP address.
  • If direct submission is unavailable, the form falls back to a prefilled email that you send yourself — so you always see exactly what is transmitted.
  • We use what you submit only to respond to your enquiry, to provide a resource you requested and measure its performance, and to qualify and deliver a potential engagement. You are never added to a marketing list unless you explicitly tick the optional marketing-updates box, which is unticked by default.

The free scanner

The scanner is designed so that we cannot see what you scan:

  • Configuration analysis runs locally in your browser. Pasted content is not transmitted, logged or retained by EcoCitizenz.
  • Analytics records only that a scan ran and the count of findings by severity — never the content of what you scanned.
  • If you download the report, the file is generated in your browser and saved directly to your device.

Analytics

  • Analytics runs only when a deployment has an analytics endpoint configured; otherwise nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Events are small and typed: the page path, an event name (for example, that a scan completed) and a few non-identifying properties such as counts of findings.
  • Events never include credentials, form content or anything you paste into the scanner.
  • No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no fingerprinting — here or anywhere else on this site.
  • Non-identifying campaign analytics (event name, campaign and allowlisted campaign parameters only) are stored privately for up to 90 days, then deleted automatically.

Campaign attribution

  • If you arrive via a campaign link, the site keeps an allowlisted set of campaign parameters — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, ref, source — and nothing else from the URL.
  • Values are length-capped and held in your browser’s sessionStorage only, which is cleared when the tab closes. No cookie is set for this.
  • The stored values are appended to TrustOps checkout links so we can tell which campaign led to a purchase — they identify a campaign, not a person.

Checkout and payment

Payment happens on TrustOps, not here

When you buy a service, this site hands you to checkout on TrustOps (external), which handles payment, intake and order status and publishes its own privacy terms. This site never sees, processes or stores card details or any other payment data.

Retention

How long anything is kept

  • Resource and contact form records are kept for up to 365 days in private Azure storage, then deleted automatically — or sooner on request.
  • Non-identifying campaign analytics are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Enquiry emails are kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any engagement that follows, and are deleted on request — write to mcp@ecocitizenz.com.
  • Scanner content is never retained, because it is never received: analysis stays in your browser.
  • Attribution values expire when you close the browser tab.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion and objection

Where the UK GDPR or similar data-protection law applies to you, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to its processing and to withdraw optional marketing consent at any time. In most cases that data is a form submission you made and the email correspondence you have had with us.

To exercise any of these rights, email mcp@ecocitizenz.com. You may also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.

Processors and hosting

Who else touches data, and on what terms

This site and its form and analytics storage run on Microsoft Azure, which acts as our hosting and subprocessing platform; the intake endpoints receive only what you submitted, held in private storage under the retention periods above. As with any website, the hosting infrastructure that serves these pages processes IP addresses in the ordinary course of delivering them — the application does not intentionally retain them or use them to identify or profile visitors.

EcoCitizenz may use appropriately vetted specialists or subcontractors to support delivery. EcoCitizenz remains responsible for the agreed deliverables. Any specialist access to customer systems or confidential information will be disclosed and governed by the engagement terms.
